Purity culture church's devils play? A "lukewarm church" with well meaning intentions messes up marriage for it's converts and young. It has actually created deep seated issues that do tear apart marriages within the church. Yes, the devil attacks us from both sides, from both in and out of the church. We cannot replace the lead of the Holy Spirit with "well intentioned" ideas of men/women. Again, "Christians" subverting the lead of the Holy Spirit. A popular culture to create rules and restraints because people just seem to always think they have to "improve" what God has already given us, His covenant to us. Healthy desire, and intimacy is an incredibly important part of the development of the husband/wife relationship. It is not sin in any way, it's a beautiful and necessary part of creation God Blesses us with and said it was very good. Purity culture, if fully followed, makes it impossible for a wife to accept feeling desired, they don't know within them that it's good to be desired and to want to be desired. They think it's all a sin. They can't in good conscience go there and receive the awesome Blessing God gives them. In their heads and feelings it doesn't make sense. It can be a "near" impossible challenge. Thankfully as with all these type of movements some eventually come to see the serious negative implications and start talking about them. This does rob and destroy marriage from within in all sorts of ways! Nastasia Grace, a Christian wife, brings some of this to light and also provide some resources to help counter the harm caused. https://youtu.be/a53OVTMMn0s?feature=shared The devil has been cleverly at work to destroy the beauty God Bleses us with. We simply must follow God, who created us, His lead, His Spirit, not following men, His way is perfect and all we need! The devil just gives us more unnecessary issues to resolve. This too with God alive within both husband and wife can be accomplished. The devil just has a way of complicating everything. With God though, everything is possible. In the "Christian" realm it is an awkward topic, but someone needs to be speaking about it! Mankind in good intentions is so prone to jumping off clifts in every direction to control, and to seemingly protect, trusting their own wisdom rather than following the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Man, on one hand pushes, to give license to sin and on the other miss-applies scripture to declare all desire sin. Solomon's Song "your graceful legs are like jewels, ...your navel never lacks wine ...your breasts like two fawns ...your eyes like pools ...your hair like royal tapestry. How beautiful you are and how pleasing with your delights! ...your breasts like clusters of fruit ...I will take hold of its fruit. ...I belong to my lover, and his desire is for me. ...Your lips drop sweetness as the honeycomb, my bride; milk and honey are under your tongue." There are many pages of the like in the Bible. The Bible has "a lot" to say about "good" desire. It was meant to be a great blessing. Be Blessed through the loving guidance of the Holy Spirit! In God's Awesome love, Henry.
